Thieves Take Off With WASA Pipeline, Water Supply Cut To Bennett Village Residents

By Newsroom

The Water and Sewerage Authority is working to replace approximately 80feet of 8 inch diameter steel pipe, which was stolen from the Bennett Storage Tank located off John Field Road, Bennett Village.

The incident will impact the water supply to customers in Bennett Village, Los Bajos and environs.

WASA is working to have repairs completed by tomorrow, Friday.

This is the second such incident the Authority has reported in recent times.

“On Monday April 5, 2021, the electrical system at the Authority’s Fyzabad Well No. 8 was also vandalized and parts removed, affecting the supply of water to customers in Fyzabad,” WASA said.

It urged citizens to report any instances of vandalism they may be aware of.

“Members of the public are again encouraged to report all acts of vandalism or suspicious activity they observe at the Authority’s installations to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) or the Authority’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.”
