Bar owner Tamashraj Ramkissoon was arrested on Saturday, after police found him operating his bar along Arena Road in Freeport. He is the third person to be charged for breaching the Public Health Ordinance, which stipulates that all bars are to be closed until April 30th, 2020.

Officers were on patrol on Saturday morning, when they found Tom’s Bar and Liquor Mart in operation. The owner was initially warned to comply with the regulations, however when the officer returned around 11:55 am, they observed a man leaving the same premises with alcoholic beverages.

Ramkissoon was arrested and granted bail in the sum of $25,000 at the Freeport Police Station.  He will appear before the Couva Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
