Thirteen Supermarkets Begin Relief Efforts For St. Vincent & The Grenadines

By Newsroom

The Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago has announced that an initial thirteen of its members have come on board to supply relief items to St. Vincent and the Grenadines in wake of La Soufriere volcanic activity.

The Association announced on Sunday that it will give 2,000 buckets with food and medical supplies that are non-perishable and, as much as possible, produced by local suppliers.

It is also seeking monetary contributions from the public to donate necessary items.

“The public can make contributions at any of the participating supermarkets (listed below) and inform the cashier that you would like to contribute to the “Sewa TT SVG Volcano Relief”. They will accept your contribution and it will appear on your receipt. The supermarkets will then consolidate these funds and pass it on to Sewa TT to procure the required items and arrange with the ODPM for delivery,” the Association explained.
