Thirteen-year-old among five injured in New Grant shooting

Five people have been injured in a shooting that occurred in the New Grant area. According to reports, the shooting incident happened in the Sixth Company area as gunmen opened fire outside a village parlour over the weekend.

A 13-year-old student was among the victims. The student who currently attends Christ College in Princes Town suffered a bullet wound to the lower right leg, injuries to the right foot and an abrasion to the left shoulder.

Another of the victims, identified as Hayden Grant, also known as Preddy, was shot seven times about the body and is still warded in a serious condition at the San Fernando General Hospital.

The other victims have been identified as 57-year-old Calvin Patterson Gonzales, 29-year-old Davion Noel and 36-years-old Rodney Cooper.

According to police around 8 pm on October 29, the victims were standing near a neighbourhood parlour when a silver wagon pulled up and four masked men jumped out and began firing on the group of villagers.
