Officers of the Arouca Criminal Investigation Department (CID), in collaboration with St. Joseph CID and the North Central Division Robbery Squad, have arrested three individuals in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Arouca on Wednesday, 13th May, 2026.
According to TTPS, around 11:30 a.m., the victim of Boundary Street, Arouca, was walking west along Albert Street when she was approached by two men who threatened her and demanded valuables. She was then robbed of two chains, a gold-colored wedding band valued at $3,000, a Samsung S25 Ultra cellular phone valued at $10,000, and $690 in cash. The suspects then fled north along Market Street.
A report was made, and officers acting on intelligence information conducted an operation at Eastern Main Road, Curepe, in the vicinity of a jewellery store, leading to the arrest of the following individuals:
1. A 27-year-old man of Ragoonanan Road, Chaguanas
2. A 29-year-old man of San Fernando
3. A 29-year-old man of Farm Road, St. Joseph
Several items reported stolen from Ms. Hall-John were recovered during the operation. Investigations are ongoing, and applications for Preservation and Detention Orders (PDOs) will be made upon the completion of enquiries.
