Three Held and Three Guns Seized in Port of Spain

Three men have been arrested for various offences while three firearms and a quantity of ammunition were seized by officers during ongoing anti-crime exercises, conducted in the Port of Spain Division yesterday.

According to the TTPS, in the first exercise, officers of the Port of Spain Gang and Intelligence Unit and Canine Branch, conducted an exercise between 5 pm and 7:30 pm, on Monday 11th December, 2023.

During the exercise, the officers executed several warrants which resulted in the arrest of one 19-year-old man of Nelson Street, for robbery offences. The officers then proceeded to Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots, where they conducted a comprehensive search of the area resulting in the discovery of one AR-15 rifle, one Glock 17 pistol and one Smith and Wesson pistol, along with a total of 58 rounds of assorted ammunition.

Meanwhile, officers of the Port of Spain Task Force responding to a report of larceny in the Sea Lots district around 7:15 am, yesterday, arrested two male suspects in connection with the incident. The men, ages 39 and 38, both of Port of Spain, were arrested while in possession of the stolen items. Investigations are ongoing into the two above incidents.
