Tobago will soon be given a boost to its COVID-19 testing capacity following a donation of 15,000 antigen test kits from the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) / World Health Organisation (WHO).

The test kits arrived on the island on January 21, 2022. Dr. Faith B.Yisrael, Secretary of Health, Wellness, and Family expressed her gratitude for the donation which came courtesy of the Secretary of Health, Wellness, and Family Development, Dr. Erica Wheeler, PAHO Area Representative, and other key members of their respective teams.

Secretary B.Yisrael added that “this is a significant development for which we are indeed grateful. These test kits will increase our testing capacity and ultimately improve our
COVID-19 response on the Island. On behalf of the Division, TRHA, and all of Tobago, I thank Dr. Wheeler and her team for this donation…We will definitely put them to good use almost immediately.”
