Tobago man charged with murder

A 21-year-old man, KISHAUN PETERKIN, has been charged with the murder of Deon Daniel, which occurred on Friday 7th October 2022.

He was remanded into custody when he appeared before Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court, earlier today, October 17. Peterkin of Mason Hall was charged with the offence following advice received from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Saturday 15th October 2022.

He is expected to reappear in court on 14th November 2022.

According to the TTPS, Daniel was last seen alive around 2pm on Friday 7th October 2022 by a relative at his home in Idle Wild Trace, Scarborough. At around 8.45 pm on the same day, the relative made checks and found Daniel lying motionless on the floor with chop and stabs wounds around the body.

Extensive investigations were conducted by the officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region One, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Tobago, and the Tobago Divisional Task Force which resulted in the arrest of a male suspect.

Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag) Simon, Inspector Mongroo (Legal Officer), W/Ag Inspector Joefield, and W/Sergeant Quashie George all of HBI Region one, Tobago Sub- Office.
Peterkin was charged by PC Wharwood on Sunday 16th October, 2022.
