A 32-year-old Tobago man has been granted $5000 bail by a Scarborough Magistrate after being charged for assaulting his ex-girlfriend. 

Kern Duncan, an electrician of Bethel, Tobago, pleaded not guilty to the charge at a virtual hearing in the Scarborough 2nd Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 9th June 2020. The matter was postponed to July 31st, 2020.

Kern Duncan was arrested by officers of the Gender-Based Violence Unit after the victim reported that she was assaulted by the accused during an argument at his home. 

Police indicated that the matter will be thoroughly investigated.
