Top Cop Orders Probe Into Video Of Officers Allegedly Soliciting Bribes

The Police Commissioner has ordered an immediate investigation into a video making the rounds online which shows police officers allegedly soliciting bribes at a business place.

The officers are believed to be from the Sangre Grande Police Station.

Top Cop Erla Christopher-Harewood is urging any member of the public who would like to share information in relation to this investigation to contact the Professional Standards Bureau.

“Commissioner Harewood-Christopher also encourages any member of the public who would like to share information in relation to this investigation to contact the Professional Standards Bureau at 625-3779 or email psb@ttps.gov.tt.” said a statement from the TTPS.”

The Police Complaints Authority is also conducting its own investigation.

“The PCA is dedicated to promoting public confidence in the Trinidad and Tobago justice system and invites members of the public to share any information they may have related to the investigation and are asked to kindly contact the PCA at 226-4722 or at info@pca.org.tt” a statement from the PCA read.
