Tory Lanez Denies Shooting Megan The Stallion In New Album

By Lillian Searles

Rapper Tory Lanez has denied shooting chart-topping rapper Megan Thee Stallion who has accused him of shooting her in the foot in an incident that occurred in Los Angeles, last July. Lanez dropped a 17-track album on Thursday night in which nearly every song addresses the incident, and what Lanez apparently perceives as betrayal from everyone involved. The album drop seemed to be unexpected by his fans after Lanez tweeted on Thursday afternoon: “To my fans, I’m sorry for my silence but respectfully, I got time today …… 9 PM PST.”  Social media users expected him to give his side of the alleged shooting on an Instagram live video, which is the method Megan has used to gradually reveal details about the incident, in which she claims Lanez shot at her as she was leaving a car after an argument, hitting her in the foot. The new album “Daystar”, contains songs packed with defensive lyrics, frequent verbal jabs at Megan, his critics, people making fun of him about his height and “friends turning into enemies” etc. He also questions her account of the incident, saying “How the f— you get shot in your foot, don’t hit no bones or tendons?” Medical records have shown that bullet fragments had been removed from her left heel. In an Instagram Live stream in August, Megan Thee Stallion said: “Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs, lying and s—. Stop lying.” She also detailed further claims about the incident. She suggested there had been an argument in a car between her, Lanez, her friend and his security guard. “I get out the car, I’m done arguing … I’m walking away. [Lanez], from out the back seat of the car, starts shooting me. You shot me.” She said she initially blamed the injury on broken glass because she was scared of the recent upsurge in police brutality against black people. “The police come, I’m scared. Police was literally killing black people for no reason. The police is really aggressive. You think I’m about to tell the police that us black people got a gun in the car?” Lanez was arrested in July following the incident, charged with carrying a concealed weapon and released a few hours after his arrest on a $35,000 bond, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department. He is due in court on Oct. 13. The incident has done nothing to slow her fast-rising career. She and Cardi B released the smash single “WAP” in August, and she is the musical guest on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” on Oct. 3
