Traffic backed up on the Solomon Hochoy highway

By Shirvan Williams

Motorists can expect delays as traffic is reportedly backed up from Claxton Bay to Corinth Flyover. According to reports police are still in the process of trying to clear two mounds of dirt which were dumped on the northbound carriageway of the Solomon Hochoy highway.

The blockage was caused by scrap iron workers who have vowed to continue their protests and have also promised that their actions may soon escalate even further. They have also said that they intend to continue to inconvenience the public until their plight is heard.

The exportation of scrap metal was banned on August 12 and is expected to continue until February 2023.
