Regional leaders will gather here in Trinidad and Tobago from July 1st-5th as this country hosts CARICOM’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

This was revealed by Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley during a PNM breakfast meeting at the Hilton on Wednesday.

CARICOM was established in 1973 with the signing of the treaty of Chaguaramas.

Dr. Rowley said the occasion would give a chance for our cultural heritage to be on display.

Celebrations were reportedly expected to be held in Dominica initially, however Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit is said to have asked for Port of Spain to be the chosen destination.
