By Newsroom

Three people, including a 17 year old minor, will appear in court today, charged with carrying out a series of offenses related to a home invasion which took place last Saturday.

The trio was caught redhanded conducting a robbery at a home in Belmont, where they turned up in PPE equipment, claiming to have been sent by the Ministry of Health to sanitize the property following a death.

Police responded after one of the occupants of the home managed to text an alert to a friend.

Tyreek Weekes, 21, and Dennis Muhammed, 25, both of Mulrain Trace, Picton Road, Laventille; and a 17-year-old of North Settlement, Sangre Grande, were arrested at the scene.

In addition to the robbery charges, the men also face charges of rape and grievous sexual assault and possession of firearms and ammunition.
