Trump To Address The UN General Assembly Today

By Newsroom

US President Donald Trump is expected to address the UN General Assembly for the first time since 2020 and he’s expected to outline his “vision for the world.” According to the White House Trump will also “touch upon how globalist institutions have significantly decayed the world order.”

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres started off this year’s debate saying the world needs the UN’s “unique legitimacy, our convening power, our vision to unite nations.” The US president could also discuss the decision by several countries to recognise Palestinian statehood – a move the US opposes.

Israel has already said that the recognition rewards Hamas for their October 7, 2023 attack in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage. More than 65,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel since 7 October, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry.
