T&T Civil Advocacy Network granted permission to host peaceful march today

Acting Commissioner of Police Mc Donald Jacob has granted permission to the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Advocacy Network to host a Peaceful March today September 30. The march is expected to happen between the hours of 9:45 am to 12:30 pm.

Approval has also been granted to restrict the use of the roadway by vehicles, in accordance with Section 68 (1) of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act Chapter 48:50.

The TTPS also noted that the Acting CoP expects the organisers of the peaceful march to comply with all directions given by all uniformed Police Officers on duty.

Vehicular Traffic will be restricted on the following streets:

  • Starting west onto Neverson Street turning right onto Bridge Road and turning left (west) onto the Eastern Main Road.
  • West along the Eastern Main Road turning right (north) onto Broadway and turning left (west) onto Independence Square South.
  • Along Independence Square South and continuing west along Independence Square unto the western end of the
  • Brian Lara Promenade in the vicinity of the Eric Williams Financial Complex, where it will conclude.

The march is expected to conclude at 12:30 pm at the Brian Lara Promenade, and as such thereafter all participants must disperse peacefully.
