TT Link In Bahamas COVID-19 Cases

By Newsroom

Two of the three COVID-19 cases reported in the Bahamas have been linked to Trinidad.

Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis today announced the two new cases that were discovered after aggressive contact tracing. They are both relatives of the 61-year-old woman who was the first person to be tested positive in the Bahamas. She did not have travel history which baffled the health officials.

They both live in the same household as the woman who tested positive on Sunday.

Prime Minister Minnis said investigations revealed that they recently travelled to jurisdictions with known community spread, including Canada, Trinidad and Dubai.

He urged pastors to practise social distancing measures by moving their services online and noted that he had met with wholesalers and gave assurances that there were sufficient supplies – with more on the way – for a six month supply. There would also be no shortage of pharmaceutical companies.
