According to the TTMS, at 8 a.m. this morning, Wednesday 27 September, 2023, this tropical wave was located near 43W and is associated with an area of low pressure, with a high (90%) chance of cyclone formation in 48 hours. Showers and thunderstorms show signs of organization and environmental conditions are forecast to be favourable for development.

A Tropical Depression is expected to form in the next day or so. Presently, this area of showers and thunderstorms is moving west-northwestward at about 10 kts or 18 km/hr. The TTMS wishes to underscore that, at this time, this area of low pressure does not pose any immediate threat to Trinidad, Tobago, Grenada and its Dependencies.
