TTPS Recover Stolen Vehicle and Arrest Three in Anti-Crime Exercises

The TTPS has held three suspects and recovered one motor vehicle which was reported stolen. Officers made the arrests during several anti-crime exercises conducted in the Northern Division yesterday.

According to the TTPS, Officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad conducted an exercise between 3:30 pm and 7:40 pm, on Tuesday 11th July 2023, during which they proceeded to the Arima district.

There, they searched the home of a 30-year-old suspect, which resulted in several documents being seized in connection with the larceny of a white Nissan Sentra motor vehicle which occurred on February 7th, 2023 in the St. Joseph district.

Two male suspects who were in the house at the time of the exercise were arrested in connection with the matter.

Meanwhile, officers investigating a report of a motor vehicle taken away from its owner at gunpoint around 9:50 pm, yesterday, by two armed men in the Trincity area, spotted the car a short time after in the vicinity of the Pasea traffic lights.

The officers pursued the vehicle into the Central Division where it ran off the roadway in the Cunupia district. One of the suspects was held while the other escaped. Investigations are ongoing into the above matters.
