Users have been asking for years, and Twitter has heard- and finally responded.

The company announced on Thursday that it is in the testing stage for edited tweets, with this first phase being available to internal members.

The plan, Twiitter says, is to expand the new feature to paying subscribers to the app later this month.

The test will first roll out to Twitter Blue subscribers in New Zealand, with Australia, Canada and the US to follow.

Users outside the test group will also be able to see edited tweets on the platform.
