Two people have been arrested, and two illegal firearms and ammunition seized during anticrime exercises in Eastern Division yesterday.
According to the TTPS, a Roving Road Check Exercise was conducted in the Toco Police District between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025. During the exercise officers searched a black Honda Civic and found a Smith & Wesson revolver containing five rounds of .38 Special ammunition concealed under the left leg of the front seat passenger.
Both the driver and passenger were arrested and transported to the Toco Police Station along with the vehicle and seized items. Investigations are ongoing.
In the Biche Police District officers also discovered a homemade trap gun at an abandoned house in Charuma Village, Biche.
These exercises were coordinated by Senior Superintendent Paponette, Assistant Superintendent Russel, and Inspector Callender, with supervision by Sergeants Leon and Narine and included Cpls Guerra and Bailey, PCs Bachoo, Singh and Williams.
