Two men who were allegedly attempting to rob would-be buyers of a vehicle have been killed by police. According to reports a third man was shot but is alive.

The incident happened in Barataria around midday. The would-be buyers were actually police who had been investigating robberies of a similar nature in the area.

None of the officers suffered injuries.

Reports indicate that officers of the Northern Division set up a sting operation at Tenth Avenue, Barataria, and responded to an advertisement for a Nissan B-13 for sale. When they got to the agreed meeting place they were met by armed men. A shootout ensued and the two men were killed.
