Two Men Killed In Confrontation With Police

Two men  are dead after they were shot by police officers in the Enterprise area.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon. 

According to reports, officers, acting on information received from one of the two victims, proceeded to a house at Lion Boulevard, Enterprise, Chaguanas at around 5:30 pm. They were reportedly greeted by gunfire as they approached the residence.

The officers, in keeping with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) Use of Force Policy, returned fire, wounding two of the six suspects.

Two loaded revolvers were retrieved from the wounded men and they were taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility. They were pronounced dead on arrival.

Police reports say the victims were abducted at gunpoint after meeting the six suspects at Rodney Road, Endeavour.

They were allegedly robbed and taken to a house in Enterprise where they were held and beaten for approximately two hours.

They were able to escape and make a report to police and were taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where they were treated.

They were subsequently transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Centre for further examination.
