The body of an unidentified man was discovered along Wellington Road in Debe shortly before midnight, bearing gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, a couple hours earlier in Cocorite, a man identified as Jalani Worrel was shot dead.

The overnight killings have taken the murder toll to 46.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley announced that government would host national consultations on crime, as he lamented the continued upward trend of violent crimes which saw Trinidad and Tobago recording its highest murder toll in 2022.
