Two teen girls shot after botched jewellry heist in Tobago

Two teenagers, who are form two female students at the same secondary school in Tobago, had to be hospitalised yesterday after they were caught in crossfire between bandits and police following a jewellery heist.

The robbery happened at a jewellery store at Gulf City Mall in Lowlands. According to reports the teens were allegedly in the getaway vehicle which was eventually intercepted during a police roadblock. The car eventually crashed into a light-pole. One of the two men who attempted the $2.5 million robbery is now in police custody.
