The TTPS has disclosed that a 27-year-old man appeared before a Master of the High Court charged with the murder of Hyacinth Gardener, which occurred on Monday 5th February 2024.

SHERWAYNE WILLIAMS, of Wallerfield, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master Sara De Silva, in the High Court of Justice, Criminal Court North, last Friday 16th February, 2024.

The matter was adjourned to July 5th, 2024. Gardener, 73, was found dead at her Pinto home on Monday 5th February 2024.

One male suspect was arrested in connection with the matter on February 8th, 2024.

Investigations were supervised by ASP Victor, Insp. Ramjag, W/Insp. Sylvester, Insp. Simon and Sgt. Campbell, all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Two. Williams was charged with the offence by Cpl Jones, also of HBI Region Two, on February 15th, 2024, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Thursday 15th February, 2024.
