WASA: Beetham Sewer Repairs On Track For Completion On February 7

By Newsroom

The Water and Sewerage Authority advises that work on the final phase of the Beetham Sewer Pipeline Project is on target for completion by February 7.

In a statement on Sunday WASA said “This is in accordance with the deferral of works by no more than one week due to the unforeseen complication that developed at the work site, to secure an underground high-voltage cable that was in the pathway between the two newly installed manholes.”

It added: “At present, work on installation of the third and final manhole is well advanced and will be followed by the reconnection of two (2) sewer lateral connections; interconnection of the new pipeline system; and finally remedial and restoration works, inclusive of permanent road restoration.

Just under three weeks ago Beetham residents, frustrated with a sewage problem which has been plaguing the community over the past six months, blocked the east and west bound lanes of the highway as well as the PBR in protest.
