WASA Notes Progress On Beetham Repair Works

By Newsroom

The Water and Sewerage Authority, WASA, says in a statement today that the first of three manholes have been completed as part of efforts to resolve a sewage problem facing Beetham residents.

Work is currently underway for the installation of the second manhole.

WASA says the final phase of the project also involves the reconnection of two sewer lateral connections; interconnection of the new pipeline system and road restoration.

Last Monday, frustrated Beetham residents resorted to burning debris along the Highway, in hopes of prompting authorities to speed up repair works.

The community has been dealing with the sewage problem since September last year, with works starting mid-October 2021.
