WASA: Repairs Ongoing At North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant

Residents in parts of North East Trinidad who are served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant are advised that there has been an unforeseen delay in repairs to a rupture on the 42 inch diameter transmission pipeline, located cross country in the Valencia area.

In a statement on Sunday, the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) says repairs crews are continuing to work around the clock and are now expected to complete these works by 12:00 noon today.

WASA advises that it may take up to 48 hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas, in accordance with established water supply schedules, following the completion of these repairs.

Affected areas include: The of town Sangre Grande and environs inclusive of Guaico Tamana Road, Sangre Chiquito and Toco Road, Cumuto, Wallerfield, Tumpuna Road, Malabar Phases 1, 3 & 4, Brazil Village, La Horquetta, Carapo,
O’Meara Road (inclusive of Industrial Estate), Mausica Road (North & South), Maloney Gardens, Five Rivers, Bon Air West, Oropune Village, Piarco, Manzanilla and environs.
