WASA to stop accepting cotton notes this Friday, December 17

Come this Friday, December 17, the Water and Sewerage Authority will no longer be accepting cotton currency notes $1, $5, $10, $20 and the $50 polymer note bearing series dates prior to 2020 for any transactions.

According to a release from the authority, “This is necessary pursuant to the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago Notice of demonetisation of these notes which will cease to be legal tender for cash payments effective January 01, 2022.”
