Water disruption in Port-of-Spain and environs

The water service interruption currently being experienced in Port-of-Spain  is expected to be resolved on Monday February 3. According to the The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) the El Socorro Booster Station is down because of mechanical problems, which developed yesterday.

Emergency repair is currently underway. WASA will use the El Socorro Wellfield to augment supply to affected areas.

Areas that would be affected include:
• Port-of-Spain
• Morvant
• Westmoorings
• Cocorite
• St. James
• Woodbrook
• Cascade
• St Anns
• Belmont
• Laventille
• Gonzales
• East Dry River
Customers are advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas, in accordance with pipe borne water supply schedules.
