Weekend Exercises In South Trinidad Lead To Recovery Of Firearms, Narcotics

Ten persons were arrested over a 24-hour period and are now assisting police with their investigation in the Southern Division.

Officers conducted exercises in the Barrackpore, St. Mary’s and Princes Town communities overnight. During the exercise, a 23-year-old man, from St. Mary’s Road, was arrested for Possession of one Colt .38 Revolver and two rounds of .38 Ammunition.

In another incident, a 27-year-old man from Cumuto South Road, Barrackpore was arrested for the Possession of a homemade 12-gauge shotgun.

Conversely, a 65-year-old man from Poui Trace, St. Mary’s Road, was arrested for Possession of 65 grammes of Marijuana and four grammes of Cocaine. Several search warrants were executed at several known drug blocks and vehicles were also searched for drugs and ammunition, while warrant exercises were conducted in Area East of the Southern Division between May 25th and 26th, seven men were arrested for affiliation warrants.

Investigations are ongoing into all matters.
