Were These Police Killings Justified? Police Complaints Authority Launches Investigation

By Newsroom

Hours after Police Constable Allen Mosely’s bullet riddled body was found at Old Road in Morvant, three men were shot and killed by police at a nearby street, Juman Drive.

One day after the incident, the Police Complaints Authority said it had launched an investigation, to determine whether both incidents were linked and whether the killings were justified or a misuse of power by officers attempting to take justice into their own hands.

Two of the men who were killed by the officers have been identified as Joel Jacobs and Israel Clinton; investigators are still attempting to determine the identity of the third man.

Police claimed a black Beretta pistol with a quantity of live ammunition were found and seized at the rear seat of the car.

Officer Moseley, who was last assigned to the Special Investigation Unit, was due to begin duty with the Guard and Emergency Branch on Monday.
