West Indies legend Clive Lloyd knighted

West Indies cricketing legend Clive Lloyd, has been knighted in Britain’s New Year Honours. Lloyd is now 75-years-old and is known for captaining one of the most destructive West Indies teams between 1974 until 1985. He also played for Lancashire from 1968 until 1986.

He has always been devoted to West Indies cricket serving as coach before taking his wealth of knowledge to the International Cricket Council.

Llyod made his Test debut aged 22 against India and scored 7,515 runs at an average of over 46 in his 110 appearances. The most famous of his recorded performances is when the WINDIES went 26 matches without defeat, and thrashed England 5-0 in what became known as the 1984 “Blackwash” series. He also led the West Indies to victory in the first cricket World Cup in 1975.
