West Indies lose first T20 to Ireland

By Newsroom

Even Dwayne Bravo’s impressive bowling spell of two wickets for just 28 runs was not enough to give West Indies the win in the first T20 match against Ireland. The game was played in Grenada earlier today.

Ireland scored 208 in their 20 overs thanks to a brilliant opening partnership of 154 from Paul Stirling and Kevin O’Brien. Sheldon Cottrell took 2 for 37 and spinner Khary Pierre took 2 for 45. The West Indies got up to 204 in their 20. Bravo scored a six in the losing effort before he was caught leaving the WINDIES needing five runs off two balls.

Evin Lewis scored 53 and captain Kieron Pollard scored 31 but the WINDIES lost wickets too regularly to post the score required.
