All Operations To Be 80% Reopened Before Month End, Says PM

Given the country’s low number of positive cases of COVID-19 cases over the past month and a half, the government is moving forward to have the country 80% reopened by the end of June.

This was revealed by Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, during a press briefing at the Diplomatic Centre in St. Ann’s on Saturday. 

As he laid out the new dates, he clarified that the implementation of these planned measures will be dependent on the number of cases remaining at a low level.

As it stands, gatherings of 10 people are now allowed, however physical distancing must be practiced at all times.

Here are the other measures to be rolled out, beginning this coming Monday:

June 8th, 2020:

-Public transport allowed to operate at 75% capacity.

-Hairdressers and barbers to reopen

June 12th, 2020:

-Religious services to resume, (Click here to read the guidelines for places of worship.)

June 20th, 2020

-Bars, gyms casinos, cinemas, to reopen.

-Sporting activities to resume, however stadium crowds are not allowed.

– In-house dining to resume.

June 22nd, 2020:

-The Public Service should be 100% back to normal- no more rotation system.

-Public Transport should be allowed to travel at 100% capacity.
